OUR WORK

Different pathways. One living practice.

The Inner Move brings together movement, music, somatic awareness and creative expression to explore how we perceive, move, relate and create.

Our work grows at the intersection of contemporary dance and music, the Feldenkrais Method, education and human development. Through embodied exploration and shared practice, we create spaces where new possibilities can emerge — in individual experience, artistic creation and the way we meet one another.

We do not begin with a fixed method or a predefined outcome. We begin with attention, curiosity and the willingness to explore.

Our Approach

From awareness to movement. From movement to connection.

We understand movement as more than physical action. It is a way of listening, learning and participating in life.

Through gentle somatic explorations, improvisation, music and shared creative processes, we invite people to discover new possibilities within themselves and in relation to others.

Our practice cultivates:

- Embodied awareness — sensing, perceiving and moving with greater ease and clarity.

- Creativity and expression — discovering new possibilities through movement, sound and improvisation.

- Presence and listening — developing attention to ourselves, to others and to the surrounding environment.

- Relationship and trust — exploring contact, cooperation and the conditions for meaningful exchange.

- Adaptability and resilience — cultivating the capacity to remain curious, responsive and connected through change.

Every encounter is different. The underlying practice remains alive through the people, contexts and relationships that shape it.

Four Fields of Practice

1. Somatic Practice & Body Awareness

Discovering movement from within.

Through the Feldenkrais Method and other forms of somatic exploration,

we investigate how we move, sense and organise ourselves.

Slow, attentive movement opens space to explore habitual patterns,

discover alternatives and develop greater ease, mobility and coordination.

Rather than striving for a particular performance, we cultivate curiosity,

self-perception and the freedom to find new ways of moving, sensing, feeling,

                                                                        thinking…

Our work takes place through group classes, individual sessions, workshops

                                                                        and longer learning processes.

2. Artistic Creation & Research

Movement and sound as sources of discovery.

We bring together contemporary dance, music, improvisation and

interdisciplinary artistic practice. Through laboratories, residencies and

collaborative projects, artists explore movement, rhythm, listening, space

and the relationships between bodies, sounds and environments.

The process is as important as the result: a space for experimentation,

artistic research and the emergence of forms that cannot be fully

                                                                        anticipated.

We collaborate with artists, performers, cultural institutions and creative

communities to develop work that deepens artistic expression and opens

                                                                        new perspectives.

3. Education & Professional Development

Learning that becomes part of practice.

The Inner Move offers learning experiences for artists, educators, therapists, facilitators and other practitioners interested in integrating embodied awareness, deep listening and creativity into their work.

Our approach combines personal exploration, artistic research, reflection and shared learning. We support practitioners in developing their own understanding and finding ways to apply the experience within their professional and cultural contexts.

Our learning pathways range from introductory workshops and focused intensives to longer professional development programmes and the three-year Inner Move Intensive Certification.

We do not seek to train people to reproduce a fixed method. We aim to cultivate an embodied practice that can continue to evolve through experience, reflection and exchange.

4. Community, Care & Human Connection

Creating spaces where people can participate and belong.

We develop workshops and collaborative projects with communities, educational institutions, social organisations and care practitioners.

Movement, sound and creative exploration can offer different ways of communicating, learning and meeting beyond familiar roles or expectations.

Our work seeks to strengthen autonomy, confidence, inclusion, trust and shared creativity. We pay particular attention to creating spaces in which people can participate with dignity and explore at their own pace.

Artistic practice and social engagement are not separate dimensions of our work. Each enriches the other.

Learning Across Cultures

A practice shaped through encounter.

The Inner Move grows through long-term relationships and collaborations between Switzerland, France and India.

Our work is shaped by encounters with artists, educators, therapists, researchers, cultural institutions and community organisations. We approach these collaborations as opportunities for mutual learning, shared research and the co-creation of practices that respond to local contexts.

We do not see intercultural exchange as the transfer of a finished model from one place to another. We see it as a process in which different experiences and perspectives can meet, influence one another and create something new.

Through this ongoing exchange, The Inner Move continues to evolve as a shared practice.

The Vision Behind The Inner Move

We believe that movement is far more than physical action.

Movement is how we learn.
Movement is how we adapt.
Movement is how we create.
Movement is how we relate.

When awareness enters movement, movement becomes a path toward greater freedom, resilience, creativity, and compassion.

The Inner Move brings together decades of experience in somatic education, artistic practice, intercultural collaboration, and therapeutic work to create learning environments where people can reconnect with their own embodied intelligence and discover new possibilities for themselves and for the communities they serve.
