THE INNER MOVE TRAINING & CERTIFICATION

A three-year journey into embodied practice

Movement · Music · Somatic Awareness · Creativity · Relational Practice

The Inner Move Training & Certification is a three-year learning journey for people who wish to deepen their relationship with movement, sound, body awareness, creativity and human connection — and explore how this work can become part of their own professional practice.

Rooted in Feldenkrais-informed movement exploration, artistic research, improvisation and relational presence, the training brings together different ways of sensing, moving, listening and working with people.

Rather than teaching a fixed method to reproduce, the programme supports participants in developing an embodied understanding of the practice and finding meaningful ways to integrate it into their own contexts.

Three years · Six in-person modules · Ongoing practice · Mentoring · A final integration project

1. What is The Inner Move Training & Certification?

The Inner Move Training is a space for sustained learning, personal development and professional exploration.

Over three years, participants investigate the relationships between body, movement, sound, perception, imagination and human interaction. They develop their own embodied practice while exploring how these experiences can inform artistic creation, education, therapeutic work, facilitation and community-based projects.

The training combines experiential learning, reflection, creative research and practical application. It encourages participants to remain curious, attentive and responsive — to themselves, to others and to the situations in which they work.

The aim is not to provide a single recipe or technique, but to develop the capacity to work with the principles of The Inner Move in an informed, sensitive and context-specific way.

What makes this training distinctive?

- Embodied learning: Understanding develops through direct experience, movement and perception.

- Artistic and somatic exploration: Movement, music, improvisation and sensory awareness inform one another.

- Relational practice: Listening, presence, trust, consent and boundaries are integral to the work.

- Integration into professional life: Participants explore how to adapt the practice to their own fields rather than simply reproduce exercises.

- An international learning community: Exchange across different professional, cultural and geographical contexts is an important part of the journey.

2. Who is this training for?

The training is intended for people who already have a meaningful practice and wish to deepen it through the perspectives of The Inner Move.

It may be relevant to:

- Dancers, musicians and other artists

- Educators and teachers

- Feldenkrais and other somatic practitioners

- Psychotherapists, counsellors and bodyworkers

- Facilitators and practitioners in wellbeing

- Social workers and people working in community settings

- Professionals working with human development, relationships or group processes

Yet, you do not need to work in only one of these fields. What matters is an openness to embodied exploration and a genuine interest in bringing the learning into your own professional or artistic context.

Is this training right for me?

You may be a good fit if you:

- Have an existing artistic, educational, therapeutic, somatic or related practice.

- Want to deepen your own relationship with movement, perception and creativity.

- Are interested in how body awareness can support your work with individuals or groups.

- Are willing to engage in regular practice, reflection and exchange with others.

- Have a context in which you would like to explore or apply what you learn.

The training is designed for committed practitioners rather than as a first introduction to movement or body awareness.

3. What will I explore and learn?

The training brings together several interconnected areas of practice.

Feldenkrais / Awareness through movement

Explore how movement, attention and perception influence one another. Develop sensitivity to breathing, gravity, weight, coordination and the possibilities of action.

Fluidity, adaptability and the water principle

Investigate fluidity as a quality of movement and a way of responding. Explore how adaptability, continuity and change can inform both embodied practice and our relationship with the world.

Sound, silence and listening

Work with sound, music, silence, resonance and rhythm. Explore listening as a physical, relational and creative process.

Improvisation and artistic process

Develop curiosity, imagination and responsiveness through improvisation. Investigate how creative processes emerge, evolve and can be supported.

Relational practice

Explore presence, contact, trust, consent, boundaries, support and group processes. Develop greater awareness of how we meet ourselves and others.

Integration and application

Bring the different strands together in a project connected to your own professional, artistic, educational, therapeutic or community context.

4. How is the three-year journey structured?

The programme unfolds over three years. Each year builds on the previous one, moving from personal experience towards facilitation, integration and professional application.

Year 1 — Foundations

Developing your own embodied practice

The first year focuses on personal exploration and the foundations of The Inner Move.

Participants investigate body awareness, movement principles, breathing, gravity, weight, listening, sound and improvisation. They develop their own practice and begin to reflect on how embodied experience relates to their professional interests.

Year 2 — Facilitation and integration

Exploring how to work with others

The second year deepens the relationship between personal practice and working with individuals or groups.

Participants explore facilitation, creative process design, relational presence, consent and boundaries, pedagogy, artistic research and ways of adapting the work to different contexts.

Year 3 — Professional application

Bringing the practice into your own context

The third year focuses on integration and application.

Participants develop and document a project that brings aspects of The Inner Move into their own artistic, educational, therapeutic, community or organisational setting. Mentoring, reflection and exchange support this process.

The journey culminates in a final integration project and a presentation or sharing of the work.

5. How does the training work in practice?

The programme combines in-person encounters with ongoing practice and exchange between modules.

Six in-person modules

Six modules of six days each take place over the three years. These intensive gatherings provide time for shared exploration, practical learning, reflection and exchange.

Ongoing online intensives

Several scheduled online intensive days take place throughout each year, supporting continuity between the in-person modules.

Regular personal practice

Participants engage weekly in ongoing Feldenkrais lessons online, helping them sustain and deepen their own practice.

Peer learning

Small peer groups provide a space to practise, exchange observations and support one another's learning between modules.

Mentoring

Individual or small-group mentoring supports participants in reflecting on their development and connecting the learning with their own work.

A final integration project

Each participant develops and documents an application of the practice within a chosen professional or artistic context.

The exact dates, locations and practical arrangements for the next training cycle will be announced separately.

6. What will I develop through the training?

The intention is that participants deepen both their own practice and their ability to bring what they learn into their work with others.

Through the three-year journey, you will have the opportunity to:

- Develop a more attentive and differentiated relationship with your own body and movement.

- Explore the connections between movement, sound, creativity and perception.

- Strengthen your capacity for listening, presence and relational awareness.

- Investigate ways of facilitating individual or group experiences.

- Reflect on consent, boundaries, responsibility and the needs of different contexts.

- Develop your own approach to integrating The Inner Move into your work.

- Create and document a project that connects the learning with your professional practice.

The process is not about becoming a copy of someone else's practice. It is about developing the understanding and discernment to let the work take shape in a way that is authentic, responsible and appropriate to your context.

7. What is required to complete the certification?

The certification process is connected to active participation, ongoing practice, reflection and the application of learning.

Participants work towards a portfolio of their personal embodied practice, facilitation designs, peer-practice reflections and documentation of their final applied project.

The process culminates in a final presentation or sharing, together with professional reflection on the learning journey.

Completion of the certification is subject to the programme's attendance, participation and final-project requirements.

Important: The exact attendance requirements, assessment process and status of the certificate will be clearly specified before registration opens.

No. The programme is relevant to practitioners from different fields. What matters is an existing practice and a willingness to engage with movement, perception, creativity and relational work.

Do I need to attend all six in-person modules?

The programme is designed as a continuous three-year journey. The exact attendance requirements and arrangements for absences should be confirmed in the participation guidelines.

A practice that continues beyond the training

The Inner Move is an invitation to keep exploring — to listen more closely, move with greater awareness, remain open to new possibilities and develop more responsive ways of meeting ourselves and others.

The three-year training offers time and support for this exploration to become part of one's own practice and to find its expression in the wider world.

We look forward to hearing what brings you to this journey.
